Sharks begin preseason with loss against Ducks
The preseason kicked off today for the San Jose Sharks, who traveled to So-Cal to face Pacific Division rivals the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks scored multiple goals in each frame, giving them a comfortable 6-2 win over the Sharks.
The Sharks were outshot and outmatched by a more NHL-ready lineup contributing to the scoresheet by the Ducks. Eric Polhkamp and Jimmy Huntington both scored for the Sharks. Additionally, both Brett Leason and Ethan Cardwell put up helpers for San Jose.
The Sharks split time between both netminders, with Eric Comrie letting in two goals and Matthew Davis allowing four goals.
The Sharks began the scoring in the opening minutes of the first, but the Ducks responded swiftly and ran away with the game.
The onslaught continued with notable names such as Leo Carlsson, who just signed the massive $18 million annual deal, putting up a highlight-reel goal and Beckette Sennecke scoring a hat-trick against the Sharks.
The San Jose Sharks will look to bounce back and gain a win against the Vegas Golden Knights this Tuesday at home.
