Barracuda Re-sign Matt Davis
The San Jose Sharks minor league affiliate the San Jose Barracuda announced earlier today that goaltender Matt Davis has re-signed an AHL contract through the 2026-2027 season.
During the 2025-2026 season, Davis spent time with the Sharks ECHL affiliate the Wichita Thunder as well as the San Jose Barracuda after finishing his tenure at the University of Denver where he helped them receive two NCAA championships.
While playing for the University of Denver he had backed up another former Shark in Magnus Chrona and is tied for fifth in the school's record in career wins (63) and goals-against average (2.13).
The organization liked what they saw in the pros after he posted a 2.56 GAA and a .928 save percentage in 24 games with the Thunder in addition to 3.06 GAA with a .902 SV% in two games with the Cuda after his AHL debut on March 1.
