TOUGH WEEKEND: SHARKS LOSE BACK TO BACK GAMES
The San Jose Sharks spent the weekend in Florida and North Carolina for games 2 and 3 of the 4-game road trip out east. The Sharks lost 4 to 5 in overtime against Joe Thornton and the Panthers Saturday night. The game marked the first time since 2003 that Thornton faced his former club, the San Jose Sharks.
The Sharks lost to the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1. James Reimer started back-to-back games, Saturday and Sunday, in less than 24 hours. The Sharks tie the game early in the 3rd period, but the Canes answer back with a goal minutes away from the end of regulation.
The Sharks will finish their road trip against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Sharks will battle against the Bolts for the 2nd game in 10 days. Tampa Bay won at San Jose 7-1 on January 22nd. The opening faceoff is scheduled to drop Tuesday, February 1st at 4 PM PST.
