The San Jose Sharks are set for their 2022-23 NHL season home opener this Friday against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The first game at the Tank will feature a finished scoreboard, a fanny pack giveaway, and the return of Brent Burns - in Carolina Red.

The San Jose Sharks parted ways with the Norris-Trophy-winning defenseman this summer when Burns and General Manager Mike Grier had talked and agreed to pursue a trade.

Brent Burns spent the last 11 years in San Jose and will play his first career game as a Hurricane Wednesday, October 12th against the Columbus Blue Jackets, just two nights before his return to the Shark Tank.

Below are Brent Burns' career numbers courtesy of Hockey-Reference.
