SHARKS LOSE IN SHOOTOUT TO ANAHEIM
The San Jose Sharks lost the skills competition to the Anaheim Ducks at the Tank.
Timo Meier scored two goals and Erik Karlsson scored his first career NHL hat-trick.
Erik Karlsson also became the first San Jose Sharks defenseman to score a hat-trick in franchise history.
Many, including ourselves here at Shark City Hockey, thought that this was the second occurrence of a defender scoring three goals in Sharks Territory because Brent Burns scored a hat-trick against the St. Louis Blues back in 2013. However, Sharks PR on Twitter stated that Burns was playing at forward during his 3-goal night.
The Sharks will play the Ducks again this weekend at the Tank on November 5th.
