SHARKS FILL VACANT COACHING ROLE
The San Jose Sharks have announced the hiring of ex-Arizona Coyotes Assistant Coach and former 2x Stanley Cup Champion John MacLean. McLean take over the power play duties that were left behind this past weekend when it was shared that Rocky Thompson would not be eligible to participate in the 2021-22 season.
MacLean joins the Sharks organization for the second time in his professional career. MacLeanskated in teal for 51 regular season games and 6 playoffs games in the 1997-98 season when San Jose acquired him via trade.
MacLean is a former Stanley Cup Champion, having raised the Cup twice with New Jersey, once as a player in 1995 and again as an Assistant Coach in 2003.
