SHARKS DROP THIRD GAME IN A ROW

Updated: Oct 16, 2022

The San Jose Sharks fell in the final two minutes of the game, 2-1 to the visiting Carolina Hurricanes.

Today was Brent Burns Day in San Jose, as the Norris Trophy-winning defenseman made his return to San Jose (just 2 games into his season) after being traded away during the summer.

The Sharks had a goal in the first period by Evgeni Svechnikov, who scored while his brother Andrei was on the ice for the Hurricanes.

The Sharks finished the first period up 1-0 and couldn't find the back of the net for the rest of the game. Carolina's 2nd-period and 3rd-period goals were enough to keep the Sharks winless in their first season under new Head Coach David Quinn and General Manager Mike Grier.
