SHARKS BLASTED BY BLUE JACKETS

Updated: Jan 24

The San Jose Sharks lost the first game of their 8-game road trip to the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-3.

The Sharks were favored to win this game prior to the opening faceoff but managed to lose to the league's worst team. As Head Coach David Quinn put it: "We thought it would be easy".

Nico Sturm did not hold back, per his post-game reputation in Sharks Territory, about the Sharks' loss to the league's worst prior to facing some of the league's best on the road trip.

Timo Meier, the Sharks' leading scorer, scored the first goal of the game following news from his agent that a trade seems imminent.

The San Jose Sharks will face the league's best Boston Bruins in less than 24 hours.
