SHARKS' 2022 DRAFT CLASS

The San Jose Sharks completed their first NHL Entry Draft under new General Manager Mike Grier. The Sharks added 10 new prospects to their system, including some high school prospects and a San Jose native.

Filip Bystedt - Ranked 70/C Grade - Drafted at 27 (RD1)

- Based his game on going through opponents

- Comparable to William Karlsson, 95% similarity in points per game of successful matches


Cameron Lund - Ranked 49/B Grade - Drafted at 34 (RD2)

- From Green Bay Gamblers (USHL).

- Registered 50 points (25 goals, 25 assists) in 62 games in the USHL


Mattias Havelid (HAV-uh-lihd) - Ranked 26/B Grade - Drafted at 45 (RD2)

- Defender out of Linkoping HC 5’10 172 lbs

- Right handed shot

- Abilities to shake the forecheck, high-level handling skills, use of the backhand

- Use of hook passes, finds the best play, and has a lot of poise


Michael Fisher - Ranked 42/B Grade - Drafted at 76 (RD3)

- Defender out of St. Mark’s School (Massachusetts)

- Fisher scored 50 points (13 goals, 37 assists) in 28 games

- Fisher is committed to Northeastern University

- Most dominant, dynamic, offensively gifted high school player scouted in years


Mason Beaupit -Unranked/D Grade - Drafted at 108 (RD4)

- Goalie from Spokane Chiefs of the WHL

- 49 games played with a 3.63 GAA and a .893 SV%


Jake Furlong - Unranked/D Grade - Drafted at 140 (RD5)

- Defender out of ECHL Halifax Mooseheads

- Mobility and handling skills can help the breakout

- Often throws the puck away under pressure

- His game feels already capped at this level (ECHL)


Joey Muldowney - Unranked/Ungraded - Drafted at 172 (RD6)

- 97 points (57 goals, 40 assists) in 56 games in the high school prep circuit

- Led all prep hockey players in the nation with 57 goals

- Appeared in 3 USHL games with the Des Moines Buccaneers


Eli Barnett - Unranked/Ungraded - Drafted at195 (RD7)

- 6’5 220 lbs Defender of Victoria Grizzlies of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL)

- Barnett recorded 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in 55 games in his rookie BCHL season


Reese Laubach (lau-bawk) - Unranked/Ungraded - Drafted at 217 (RD7)

-Scored 102 points (51 goals, 51 assists) in 57 18U games in the 2021-22 season

- Drafted by the Youngstown Phantoms in Phase II of the 2021 USHL Draft

- Played with the Jr. Sharks program until the 2020-21 season

- Led the Jr. Sharks 16U with 60 points (30 goals, 30 assists) in 49 games
