Former Sharks Christian Ehrhoff Comes Out of Retirement

Former San Jose Sharks defenseman Christian Ehrhoff is set to join the Krefeld Pinguine in Germany's DEL2 league.


Christian Ehrhoff will return to pro hockey at the age of 41. Ehrhoff will play in the 2nd tier German pro league for the 2023-24 season.


Ehrhoff was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the 4th Round (106th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Ehrhoff played 5 of his 12 NHL seasons with the San Jose Sharks. Ehrhoff played 341 NHL games and scored 132 points (25 G, 107 A) with San Jose. Ehrhoff's final pro season was played in DEL with the Kolner Haie in 2018.
